Sweet Valentine’s card

It’s only January but time to break out all the fun Valentine’s stamps tucked away the rest of the year. The stamp I’m centering my card around today is from the set Greeting card Kids from Stampin up. It is such a sweet little set and the little girl holding the heart is perfect for Valentine’s day.

I’m using Stampin’Up’s Pink Passion paper, patterned paper and Whisper white cardstock. I began by stamping my image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I’m going to combine Copic markers with a Stampin’ up Pink Passion marker (water based dye ink). Usually you wouldn’t combine Alcohol markers with water based dye but I made sure one was dry before using the next and didn’t used them on top of each other. It gave me an exact match with the paper which I love.

I have started using a few Artist’s Loft markers. They are alcohol based and I like them. They are not as good as Copics but way cheaper and for the money it’s worth a bit more work to blend them. At Micheals I was able to use the 40% coupon and got the Grey set for a steal. I think it was around $12.

I used the lightest grey for the shadow.

I then used a piece of blushing bride by Stampin’ up cut at 4″x5.25″ and embossed with a mosaic embossing folder. I used a stiched circle die cut to cut out my image.

I still have an old school Cuttle bug and I love it. You can see by the folders just how loved and those aren’t my first set. I’ve added an image of one of the cupboards in my craftroom. The set up works well for me.

I decided to add a strip of ribbon to the card and cut another stiched circle from the patterned paper. I sponged the edges with matching ink.

I used Tombow Mono multi, thin double sided tape and foam tape to put it together.

That finishes my card for this week. Thank you for the view and if you would like to see the YouTube video link will be here
