Christmas Cheer

Hello! Twenty five days left until Christmas! It sure is ticking by quickly. I’ve been so busy making cards for craft shows and custom orders that I haven’t even made my own to send yet. I love to send them but it sure is time consuming to send a big lot. Not to mention bus drivers, teachers, and the like. I better get busy!

So today I am making a card using an old Stampin Up set Greeting card Kids. I love all four images in this set but will be using the little girl in the blue coat. She looks about the scale to be my daughter who’s three.

So I cut the red base in a top folding card 4.25″x5.5″. I used Craft cardstock cut to 4″x5.25″ and stamped the image with Versa Mark clear ink and embossed it with Black embossing powder.

Today I’m using Water color pencils.

I colored my I’m age and then used a Stampin up Blend pen to blend the ink. You can see I didn’t quite heat set my image enough and it smudged. I decided to go with it and it worked out okay.

I put a little grey as a shadow around the image and did the same blending.

I added snow with white pencil.

I then went in with different shades using vertical strokes.

Then I took my;

Blend pen, Tim Holtz blending tool and Distress Oxide ink in Broken China and added it to the sky.

I went around the image with a yellow pencil and the blend pen. I then took the blend pen to the snow. I dropped water on the sky to activate the ink and added stars. Stickles we’re added to the snow to make it glitter.

On the inside a simple Stampin up sentiment and a piece of glitter tape.

That is the finished card. Thank you for reading and if you would like to check the video out you can find it here…
